Three deliberative events were commissioned to seek the views of parents and professionals on how the former can be encouraged to become more involved in their children’s learning, both at school and in the home.The events were held in London, Leeds and Birmingham on 13th September 2008. They were age specific - parents or professionals working with children in early years, primary and secondary. The sites were linked via satellite and presentations, written handouts and table exercises helped build participants’ knowledge to inform discussions.This report presents the findings of the day’s discussions, highlighting the main themes and actions proposed by participants. At several points in the day participants were asked to think of new or different ways that services could be delivered.Fonte
